Job Summary

The Finance Head will join our growing team at Angla Burger and oversee the financial operations of the company. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned financial professional to manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for a well-established brand in the heart of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Finance Head will ensure profitability, compliance, and financial growth while leading the finance team to optimize financial performance and align with business goals in the dynamic Ethiopian market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning & Strategy: Oversee the development and implementation of the company’s financial strategies to ensure long-term profitability and sustainability within the Ethiopian market.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process across all branches, ensuring accurate financial projections, and tracking performance against set targets.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing insights into company performance to the executive team.
  • Cash Flow & Cost Management: Monitor cash flow, control costs, and suggest strategies to optimize resources and maximize profitability, particularly in the context of Ethiopia’s dynamic business environment.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Affairs: Ensure the company adheres to Ethiopian financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards, working closely with external auditors and government bodies.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to maintain high standards of performance, ensuring alignment with business goals and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including banks, investors, and suppliers, to maintain strong financial relationships and support business operations.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and opportunities and implement strategies to minimize risks, particularly related to exchange rates, inflation, and other macroeconomic factors affecting the Ethiopian market.factors affecting the Ethiopian market.

About You

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience total finance experience with this 3 years in a senior finance or financial management role,
  • Strong understanding of the Ethiopian business environment, including tax laws, financial regulations, and market trends.
  • Proven experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, financial analysis, and cost management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team and collaborate across departments.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of IFRS, CNET
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the Ethiopian tax system and financial reporting standards is essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and adapt to evolving business challenges.
