Background

AQ Roses is a company that produces different kinds of flowers starting from 2006 based in Ziway, Oromia. The company had started its farming on 18 hectares based in the shores of Lake Denbel. Having maintained its qualities and quantities, currently AQ Roses flower farm has expanded its farming to 38 hectares instead of 18 hectares. Recently we have expanded our farm to Bishoftu as well.

Scope of the position

• The position holder shall shoulder a pack of responsibilities that ranges monitoring sprayers under his supervision to detail checking of the spray procedures.

Roles and responsibilities

• Below are the lists of basic activities to be performed. However, the list must not be taken as being exhaustive and related activities that are not listed in here might be incorporated
• Supervise Knapsack Spraying.
• Supervise Full Block Spraying.
• Scouting for deceases in the crop and treat them well
• Hand application /broadcasting of certain pesticide along the beds.
• Prepare trusted employee data to the secretary and the Management
• Prepare any reports as required by the Management
• Requesting and collecting pesticide from Main-store.
• Daily location of duties to the Sprayers.
• Ensuring that the spray equipment is in good condition.
• Supervising and ensuring that mixing of the pesticide is done at the recommended rates and pumped to blocks where spraying is taking place.
• Keeping of spray records and maintenance of spraying equipment.
• Responsible for the safe keeping of P.P.E. in your Section.
• Any other duties that may be assigned to you by the Management from time to time.

About You

Requirements

• Diploma or above in fields such as Plant Science, Horticulture, Crop Protection, or related areas.
• 2 years of experience for Diploma holder and 1 year experience for Degree holders
• Knowing local language would be of a great asset.
• Farm experience has of a great advantage as well.
