Job Description


Oromia Insurance Company S.C is a profit making share company established and licensed by the National Bank of Ethiopia to carry on general Insurance business on 26 January 2009, now OIC transacts all classes of insurance: Non-life Insurance, Life Insurance and Micro Insurance. It commenced operation on 9 February 2009.

Job summary

Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Resources Officer has a responsibility for formulating broad strategies and policies regarding resources, i.e., human resources, financial resources, material resources, information technology, asset formation, etc., and the coordination of these resources in order to create capabilities that will be the sources of competitive advantage for the company.

Job Requirement

Education: a minimum of bachelor’s degree from a recognized higher learning institution and preferably have diploma or advanced diploma in insurance from Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) or Life Office Management Association (LOMA).

Experience: a minimum of 12 years’ experience in insurance, of which 4 years shall be in a managerial position in any one or more of core areas of general insurance operations.
