Job Description


Afriflower PLC is engaged in the flower production and export business with 74 hectares of land at Holeta.

Summary

We would like to hire an Accountant who is punctual, good communicator and a team player for our head office located in Addis Ababa.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Posting JV, petty cash payments, export sales, and export freight.
  • Prepare cheques, BPV (Bank Payment Voucher).
  • Properly file receipts, invoices, and GRN (Good Received Notes) on the BPV.
  • Request and collect invoices for any purchase that was made by the company’s purchaser.
  • Issuing invoice to the customers based of the delivery note and collecting the money and timely deposit to the bank.
  • Assisting in providing documents to the Audit.
  • Recording VAT invoices by Customs form and making ready the files for monthly VAT declaration.
  • Handle and manage month/quarterly tax filing and proper settlements in due time (Declaring on the ERCA system).
  • Support month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Reconcile Good Delivery Note and Good received Note with the local credit supplier before payment is prepared to them.
  • Detaching VAT invoices from the file and separately file VAT invoices for VAT refund requests. And file back invoices in their place after the refund process has been done.
  • And other related assignments.

Qualifications and experience required

  • B.A. Degree in Accounting and Finance
  • 2 – 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Peachtree, MS-Excel, and MS-Word.
  • Experience on the export/Import industry is preferable.
