Job Description


Habesha share company is registered as a cement producer in Ethiopia. The company has a cement plant in operational since its inauguration in mid-January 2017. Currently, the plant has a capacity of producing 3,000 tons of clinker which translates to 1.2 million tons of cement per year at full operation.

Purpose of the Job:

To support the smooth functioning of the day to day of Habesha Cement’s operations by analyzing user requirements and recommending improvements for ERP systems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • · Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of ERP systems.
  • · Develop, document and revise ERP systems and procedures.
  • · Provide staff and users with assistance in solving ERP related problems, such as malfunctions, program errors problems.
  • · Confer with departments to identify their request in customizing and enhancing the system.
  • · Assess the usefulness of pre-developed application packages and adapt (or configure) them to a user environment.
  • · Bring together data from ERP systems into reporting and visualization tools to provide visibility and enable decision-making processes.
  • · Recommend and enhance the ERP system for specific cases.
  • · Prepare and submit periodic performance reports.
  • · Administer complex databases and database management system software of the company at data centre and disaster recovery site.
  • · Perform daily database monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all critical database systems in test and production areas.
  • · Perform daily backup of SQL database and ERP system
  • · Install and configure the Company’s database management systems.
  • · Monitor and optimize database performance by undertaking performance tuning of the company database as per the set standard.
  • · Test and apply new updates of the database and ERP systems.
  • · Involve in the analysis, design, and integration of the company database and ERP systems with other systems.
  • · Allocate system storage and planning future storage requirements for all database systems.
  • · Control users and user access levels for each segment of the ERP system.
  • · Implement developed scripts for taking backup and restoring databases and applications in redundant manner
  • · Restore databases both in test and production servers as required.
  • · Implement storage and archiving procedures.
  • · Maintain archived data.
  • · Test and implement back-up and recovery plans.
  • · Ensure the storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly.
  • · Prepare and submit periodical performance report.

Requirements

Qualification and Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Communication Technology (ICT) or related fields with four (4) years of demonstrated experience.
