Job Description


The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for Store Keeper position who meet the following requirements.

Job Summary

Storekeeper is responsible for managing inventory levels, receiving and issuing goods, and ensuring accurate documentation within the storeroom.

Duties and responsibilities

  • • Receive, inspect, and store incoming supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • • Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock checks, and replenish items as necessary to avoid shortages.
  • • Prepare and process requisitions for supplies and materials needed by various departments.
  • • Issue items as per approved requisitions, ensuring accurate quantities and specifications.
  • • Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of inventory transactions, including receipts, issuances, and returns.
  • • Prepare reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and consumption patterns.
  • • Organize the storeroom for efficient space utilization, easy access, and proper segregation of items.
  • • Implement labeling and categorization systems to facilitate quick retrieval of items.
  • • Inspect incoming supplies and materials to ensure they meet specified quality standards.
  • • Report any issues with quality and assist in returning defective items to suppliers.
  • • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to schedule deliveries and address discrepancies in received items.
  • • Communicate any stock-related issues to the senior storekeeper or procurement department.
  • • Adhere to safety protocols and organizational policies related to the handling and storage of items.
  • • Participate in periodic audits and compliance checks, providing necessary documentation and information.
  • • Ensure proper maintenance of storage equipment and tools used in the storeroom.
  • • Report any malfunctions or repairs needed to the appropriate department.

Salary: As per the organization salary scale (Competitive)

Reports to: Deputy Head, Asset Management Department

Requirements

Education and Work Experience:  3 years for Bachelor & 0 years for Masters in supply chain & logistics management or development related job positions.

Knowledge:

  • • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • • Ability to lift and move heavy items when necessary.
  • • Ethical mind-set with a commitment to transparency, integrity, and responsible storekeeping practices.
