Job Purpose

Defining and leading the technical development programmes of Ethiopian Football Federation

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Develop technical Strategy over several years in order to improve the level of game with in the country (male and Female)
• In charge together with the staff of the technical department of the planning, the implementation and the monitoring of all technical activities.
• Encourage the expansion and promote the participation of Football by as many people as possible.
• Define a coach education program in line with the needs of the Federation and the parameters of the CAF coaching Convention.
• Prepare the future of national football and work to improve the standard of play in national competitions
• Reinforce the competitiveness of women’s and youth national teams
• Collaborate with the senior national team coach
• Promote research and documentation at various levels
• Collaborate with other departments (management committee)
• Provide input for the technical development of clubs and regional federations

Resources

• The technical director is leading the staff of the technical department as well as the budget assigned to it.

Key performance indicators

• Numbers and frequency of participation in grassroots, amateur and women’s football (competitions, tournaments, festivals)
• Numbers and quality of participants in coach education
• Quality of training and matches in enlight youth and professional football (Male and Female)
• FIFA-and CAF-ranking of youth and women’s national teams

Job Requirement

Qualifications

• Highest coaching License of the confederation (CAF)
• Recognition by the national football stakeholders
• Leadership, communication and Computer usage skills
• University degree in relevant fields (BSc. Degree in Sport Science, BSc. Degree  in Sport Management, B.Ed. Degree in Physical Education, MSc degree in FB coaching,  Sport Management, MEd  in Physical Education, & above)
• Analytical and Developing skill
• Fluent in English Language
• Candidates are expected to present football development plan

• Experience as a football player (not necessarily at highest national level)
• Above 10 years’ experience as a coach and a coach educator (all levels)
