Job Description


Bethzatha is a private limited company established in the year 1996 to provide health care services in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Bethzatha started its service in 1996 with a higher clinic around Olympia Square (Kirkos Sub City) and a free standing laboratory in Ambassador Theatre building. In 2003 Bethzatha established a 60 bed general hospital at Stadium area providing inpatient and outpatient services in several specialties. For over the past five years the general hospital has been giving medical care to over 100,000 patients per annum.

Reports to: – Respective Head Nurse

Main duties and responsibilities

Help Head, Nurse in the preparation of staff and patients schedules to ensure full coverage of patient care needs at all times to ensure effective patient services. Participate in program development and in development and implementation of operating policy and procedure. Provides triage advice and guidance to physicians and staff referring patients to the clinic. Maintain confidentiality in matters related to patient, family and client facility staff. Conduct ongoing assessments as determined by patient’s condition and/or the client facility’s policies, procedures or protocols and reprioritizes care accordingly.

Specific duties & responsibilities

  • Perform appropriate treatments as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Monitors and coordinates the daily patient care activities of the unit.
  • Help Head, Nurse in the preparation of staff and patients schedules to ensure full coverage of patient care needs at all times to ensure effective patient services.
  • Provides triage advice and guidance to physicians and staff referring patients to the clinic.
  • Oversees and monitors patient evaluation and treatment decisions.
  • Supervises the work of employees in supporting roles.
  • Participates in program development and in development and implementation of operating policy and procedure.
  • Oversees and provides direct nursing evaluation and/or other related care and consultation to patients as required.
  • Perform therapeutic nursing interventions as established by individualized plan of care for the patient and his/her family.
  • Coordinates services with other patient care units as required.
  • Maintain communication with allied services and maintain community liaison as appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality in matters related to patient, family and client facility staff.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments as determined by patient’s condition and/or the client facility’s policies, procedures or protocols and reprioritizes care accordingly.
  • Provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education : BSC in Professional Nursing /Clinical Nursing or related field

Work Experience : 6 Years Related Experience
