Job Description


World Vision Ethiopia began its first intervention in Ethiopia in 1971 with relief and opened the Ethiopia office in 1975. Relief, rehabilitation and small community development projects dominated the decade that followed. During the 1984/85 drought, World Vision Ethiopia participated in a massive relief operation that saved the lives of millions of people.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct & undertake consultation & proper treatment for acute and life-threatening illnesses based on the protocol of MHNT
  • Prepare terms of reference (TOR), organize and facilitate training, review meeting and draw best lessons/practice
  • Conduct & undertake PHC like consultation & provide proper treatment based on the protocol.
  • Ensure all referral cases will be timely transferred to the nearest health facility
  • Conduct planning and promotion of awareness creation preventative and promotive health care services at community level
  • Participate in Mobile Health and Nutrition Team to provide essential lifesaving primary health care services to displaced people and people who have no access to health services.
  • Facilitate training of staff under his/her supervision in their work with special focus in following all appropriate protocols and procedures and ensuring team work
  • Provide technical support and participate in carrying out all components of MNCH packages (ANC, PNC, FP, PMTCT, labor and delivery, EPI
  • Ensure quality of clinical procedures maintained at outreach locations
  • Work with pharmacy logistics officer  to ensure medicines and medical supplies availability to MHNT and health facilities
  • Work closely with Health and nutrition Project coordinator &ensure an integrated approach for effective project implementation and monitoring.
  • Discharge any other related assignments as directed by one’s supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • Previous work experience at least 3 years in risk identification, outbreak detection, PHEM, OPD consultation, ICCM/IMNCI, maternal health, and supply chain management areas.
  • Bachelor Degree in Public Health/Nursing with minimum of three years relevant experience.
  •  certificate on EDks management, PHEM, MHPSS and IPC are an asset
  • Experience in the mobile health and nutrition intervention areas of screening, risk communication, OPD/Inpatient consultation, outreach EPI, health education, sanitation, and child health
