Job Description


Job Summary

The overall responsibility of the incumbent is to proposed community-based surveillance to identify and map areas of high zero-dose and under-immunized children to improve immunization coverage.

Basic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Involve and assist in formulating project proposals for resource mobilization as appropriate to the objective and funding nature of CCRDA/CORE Group Polio Project,
  • Provide technical support, guidance and backstopping service to augment the capacity of partners including  woreda health offices on  immunization, surveillance  and other related fields,
  • Provide project appraisal, implementation and monitoring project of partner organizations at field offices, woreda health offices, health facilities and communities level,
  • Assist partners to improve documentation system at all levels
  • Communicate regularly and attend review meetings organized at woreda and community level and provide the necessary support in documentation, reporting, refresher training, etc
  • Participate in the development and distribution of reference & training manuals, IEC/BCC materials  and other documents  and conduct follow up on the status of utilization
  • Data collection using ODK for mapping of communities with high number of zero dose children.
  • Conduct level analyzing temporospatial analysis of gathered data for mapping the distribution of zero dose and under immunized children in the project area.
  • Participate and provide the required assistance during NIDs/SNIDs
  • Represent CCRDA/CORE Group Polio Project in different forums when required,
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities requested by the CCRDA/CORE Group Polio Project Director.

Job Requirement

Preferred Qualifications/Experiences:

  • Postgraduate degree in public health or other related field, preferably, MPH or MSC
  • Minimum five years’ experience in immunization and disease surveillance
  • NGOs experience is an advantage
  • Fluent in reading, writing and speaking in English language
  • Strong knowledge and skills in computer applications
  • Good interpersonal skill

Duty Station: Addis Ababa with frequent travel to the project areas
