Habesha Breweries S.C. is looking for a Category Manager.

The Role Summary:

The Category Manager develops marketing strategy that best helps the realization of the company’s mission vision and business objective. He/ She leads, coordinates and monitors all marketing activities of the company. Initiates research that incorporates the macro and micro environment to get a clear understanding of the market conditions and uses it as a base to make all marketing decisions.

Result Areas & Responsibilities

Strategy Development and Planning

  • Managing all marketing for the company and activities within the marketing department
  • Developing the marketing strategy for the company in line with company objectives.
  • Initiating research incorporating macro and micro environment required to base all marketing strategic decisions for a clear understanding of market conditions.
  • Utilize Intelligence information’s and insights found through researches and primary sales.
  • Identify areas (market information) requiring further research investigation and initiate the research.
  • Develop short run and long run strategic marketing objectives that resonate with the corporate strategic business objective.
  • Determine strategic platforms to achieve the marketing objectives
  • Develop pricing strategy, product strategy, communication strategy for the existing and future portfolio of brands.
  • Develop plan for continual system and process development to increase efficiency of the functions under the department.

Collaboration

  • Take a lead in coordinating of inter-departmental alignment
  • Collaborate with sales department in balancing push and pull.
  • Coordinating marketing campaigns with sales activities.

Team Management and People Development

  • Able to delegate work to team appropriately and monitor their performance regularly
  • Develop the capabilities of the subordinates by ongoing coaching and regular performance reviews
  • Able to guide and motivate team appropriately in order to curb attrition
  • Able to network in the industry and do timely vacancy management

Food Safety Management (FSMS)

  • Ensure FSMS is implemented by her /his team members
  • Contribute her/his role in the implementation of FSMS (understanding the food safety policy, objectives, follow the right procedure and work instruction, properly document the records)
  • Aware her/ his team members about the company’s vision, mission and values
  • Comply with the Good Manufacturing practices /GMP/ policies

Job Requirements

The Person:

This role is positioned at the managerial level and requires an experienced professional, who will have the opportunity to develop their career further within a very progressive learning and development as well as a dynamic and exciting work atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • MA degree in Marketing Management, Strategic Management, Business Administration OR related fields.
  • 6 years of relevant experience of which 2 years in managerial position in an FMCG industry OR equivalent
  • Full English proficiency mandatory (both writing and speaking)
  • Flexibility to travel to different parts of Ethiopia when required
