Job Description


Zeleman is an Ethiopian, integrated full service, communications, advertising and production agency.  Since our company’s founding seventeen years ago, we have created hundreds of creative advertising campaigns for some of the biggest advertisers in the country.

JOB SUMMARY

The accountant is responsible to ensure that proper records of tax remittance are kept and reconciled to monthly transactions. He/she is also responsible for timely, complete and accurate filings of returns

ROLE AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Prepare cheque payment voucher, cheque, bank transfer letter, or CPO order form
  • Review and check petty cash expenditure summary along with all relevant documents
  • Review and reconcile documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Prepare Journal voucher and post to system
  • Ensure all bank related transactions are completely and accurately captured on a timely basis
  • Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations
  • Prepare the appropriate general journal entries
  • Ensure all taxes are paid with in the given time line
  • Review trade advance settlements and pass the appropriate entries to the system
  • ensure that monthly settlements of the advances made to employees are effected through deduction from Payroll or settlement by submitting necessary documents

REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • BA degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Training and experience on IFRS
  • Detail oriented and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of accounting software (Peachtree, QuickBooks etc.)
  • Knowledge of accounting and finance principles

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in related function.
  • Experience on income tax rules and regulations
