Job Description


Purpose of the job:-

Processes all logistics issues and procedures especially preparing customs declaration for machine and spare parts import and scrap and warranty export shipments. Facilitate customs clearance process to and from Ethiopia to meet the objectives of the company from end to end. The incumbent plays the required coordination role among team members to give solution for all process requirements, promote efficient business process and to build knowledge, team spirit and knowledge sharing. Responsibilities

  • Check and validate the documents for customs procedure.
  • Verify fulfillment of documents for customs procedure process and notify the concerned section if documents are missed.
  • Register and make tax assessment on customs system after receiving CPO from the client
  • Notify duty and tax and do a follow-up for the payment in due time,
    Fill and submit VDD online.
  • Undertake the customs clearance process and facilitate the logistics at ports
  • Follow up of customs rule regulation and update the company accordingly
  • Reply to any Customs inquiry and resolve the issue exhaustively.
  • Check and verify declaration works done by other staff.
  • Provide support to staffs and client whenever required.
    N.B the job holder performs other duties as deemed necessary.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE : Clear understanding of and practice of Logistics and Customs clearance

SKILLS

  • High command of the English language (reading, speaking and writing)
  • Excellent understanding of International Trade, Compliance and Customs regulations
  • Previous exposure to the development of business policies and process governance within an international business
  • Previous experience in working alongside international government agencies
  • An excellent knowledge of export and import controls is essential for this role.
  • Ability to evaluate logistics and suppliers processes
  • Ability to manage conflict, prompt action and decision making enabler
  • High Communication and Negotiation skills
  • High team work skills and multi culture oriented
  • Work under pressure and ability to absorb tension and stress Honesty and discretion
  • Excellent understanding of logistic operation, governing rules of the country
  • Good knowledge of international trade and logistic practice
  • Excellent understanding of workflow processes
  • Ability to consistently approach work with energy and a positive and constructive attitude.
  • Self-starter and ability to manage work (perform) without supervision.
  • Ability to remain calm and in control under pressure.
  • Ability to meet short deadlines.
  • Basic computer skill, email and other social platform usage

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate training from ERCA – as a Transistor.
  • Practical experience on Import and export custom clearing, shipping and forwarding.
  • Clean record from ERCA.
  • Minimum degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
  • 10 years Customs, logistics and administrative experience
