Job Description


World Vision Ethiopia began its first intervention in Ethiopia in 1971 with relief and opened the Ethiopia office in 1975. Relief, rehabilitation and small community development projects dominated the decade that followed. During the 1984/85 drought, World Vision Ethiopia participated in a massive relief operation that saved the lives of millions of people.

Summary

Lead in the creation, leveraging, and distribution of high-quality social media resources, for external audiences. Act as the senior social media guru, with the ability to mentor and train junior staff. The Communications & Marketing Department requires effective, accessible, up-to-date communications resources. Reporting to the Public Engagement Manager, ensure our audiences engage in our mission, increasing coverage of the issues World Vision cares about. Create new opportunities for the public to engage with World Vision with timely and strategic communications content that grows World Vision’s social community, building visibility and reputation, positioning World Vision as a trusted partner.]

Duties

    • As senior social media guru, manage the creation, leveraging, and distribution of high-quality social media resources and projects that builds World Vision brand awareness and increases trust
    • Develop a social media strategy that leverages appropriate platforms, positioning World Vision positively with target audiences
    • Grow World Vision’s brand, reputation, and relationships with local and international audiences, by creating engaging social media environments for people to interact with World Vision
    • Ensure World Vision’s global brand is aligned and brought to life across all social media content
    • Proactive management of social platforms leads to growing online presence across website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, etc.
    • Ensure quality stories and messages are being broadcast regularly and in sync with traditional media messaging – building world vision’s brand trust and awareness.
    • Produce high quality social media content for local and international audiences
      • Concept, draft, and write new content
      • Design and layout creative content
      • Support, liaise and social media content related workflow with Field, Technical Programme, Grant, and Emergency Communicators
      • Ensure all World Vision Ethiopia resources are on-brand from an editorial perspective and are updated regularly; press releases, media statements, articles, powerpoints, stationary, website copy elements, factsheets, posters, annual reports, brochures, etc
      • Monitor, analyse, and report on social media metrics ensuring data-based decisions lead to increase effectiveness of social media content and engagement
      • Manage ContentFlow, StoryHub, and other content management systems
      • Ensure the secure and catalogued management of all Communications design digital assets
      • Ensure effective communications job flow and project management with Public Engagement, Marketing and national level Advocacy campaigns – ensuring calendars, timetables, schedules, and itineraries are kept
