The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for sourcing approved equipment, goods and services and managing regional vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic Supply Chain activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and carry on comprehensive Supply Chain performance reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Implement developed strategies to streamline and integrate the Procurement and Logistics processes so as to maximize realization of the supply chain synergies to the markets. Lead the resolution of policy and strategy compliance and communicate the strategies and policies to ensure a common understanding of goals and targets.
  • Champion the collation of relevant market procurement requirements and ensured robust planning, budgeting and target setting.
  • Continuously review implementation of the supply chain processes, methodology and software, challenge the status quo, identify new opportunities and ensure their exploitation to improve their performance in order to reduce costs, improve service, increase responsiveness to customer needs and increase transparency of procurement activity and spend through regular monthly reporting.
  • Lead negotiations as may be assigned by the CFO for specific spend purchases and contracts and develop strategies and implementation plans for optimizing total spend and effectively delivering budgeted procurement with standardization and optimal value as the key drivers.
  • Develop Supplier performance and partnership processes.
  • Co-ordinate the contracting process to ensure interests of both the suppliers and the company are protected and ensure all high risk/impact supply relationships are covered by contracts.
  • Implement the Logistics strategy.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Documented Procurement and Logistics strategy and policies that reflect best practice in line with group policies and BU objectives.
  • Implementing Strategic plans in place for meeting internal customers’ expectations and total cost reduction targets against all budgets. Ensure value for money concept is incorporated in all regional procurement activities and achieve cost reduction targets.
  • Implement internal service level agreements and monitored performance against these measures.
  • Implement standard monthly reporting on all Procurement activity and spend – with the objective of providing a comprehensive overview of expenditure, commitments, risks and issues tracking. The reports should have detailed comparisons on a market by market basis
  • Synchronize the standard commercial contracting procedures across the region.
  • Have standard Business ethics signed and fully embedded\embraced by supply chain personnel. In line with all other group policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIANCE:

  • Degree in business studies/management (business schools, college, etc)
  • 2 years direct work experience in a supply chain capacity, including all aspects of supply chain strategy execution.
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing and supply chain regulations, laws and procedures
  • Strong familiarity and technical competence with purchase management software and/or automated procurement systems, such as Oracle, SAP, JDE etc.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Professional Purchasing qualification- MCIPS Qualification and or a master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management.

Technical Competences:

  • Analysis and leverage from Supplier market trends.
  • Able to timely manage and give solutions to enable the activities, projects and requirements of other departments and functions.
  • Benchmarking techniques.
  • General knowledge of the telecommunications industry, FMCG industry, accounting, finance, marketing, and logistics.
  • Excellent contract management skills are essential.
  • Effective bartering and negotiation skills.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities in spending strategies, product demands and purchasing timelines through analytical capabilities.
  • Superb budgeting, forecasting and inventory, and cost-management skills.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills

ENVIRONMENT:

Approximately 60% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Approximately 40% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 kilos.
