Team Program: Program Operations/Logistics

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Duty Station: Addis Ababa

Grade :5

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 1:  the role holder will not have contact with children and/or young people, or access to personal data about children or young people, as part of their work; therefore, a police check will not be mandatory unless the content or location of the role changes, in which case the Child Safeguarding level will be reviewed.

ROLE PURPOSE:

This position provides support in data entry in to Total Inventory Management (TIM), documentation as well as facilitating store transaction paper works and assists the warehouse officer in updating the Store Bin cards, stock cards and compiling monthly stock reports.

SCOPE OF ROLE 

Reports to: Country office Central Warehouses Service Coordinator

Dimensions: Save the Children works in [X] regions in [country] with a current staff complement of approximately [X] staff and current expenditure of approximately [X] million each year.

A.KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 

  • Keep record of all stock and commodity movements and transactions; and maintain all stock related data up to date, and available on request,
  • Keep related dispatch Way Bills and Authorization memos in sequence, and prepare reference indexes, in order to enable quick accessibility to the documents,
  • Assist the warehouse officer in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual stock and commodity movement reports as  per the requirements of the standard reporting formats
  • Automatically update bin cards and stock cards and work out the balance after each receipt and dispatch/ issuance of items.
  • As required assist the warehouse officer in receiving and despatching of programme items as well as reorganizing of the warehouse stock
  • Assist the warehouse officer in tracking office supplies and stationary materials stock balances and plan for reordering and replenishments
  • Ensure all fixed assets passes through the warehouse system are register at the national asset database. This requires close communication with the asset & GIk officer
  • Accomplishes other related tasks and duties that would be assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma, in accounting, business management and or related subjects with relevant five years experiences, or, first degree in accounting, business administration/management  with relevant two years experiences.
  • Good written and spoken English knowledge
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the children’s aims, values and principles
  • A commitment to children’s rights and principles of equal opportunity

·       Average level of computer literacy (word, excel, ppt etc)

Desirable

  • Strong leadership; communication and time management skills

Experience with multi-sectoral nutrition projects such as USAID ENGINE or USAID Growth through Nutrition
