Job Description


Child Safeguarding:

Level 3 – the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people

ROLE PURPOSE: 

Assist all treasury and disbursement unit tasks

Reports to:

Finance Officer-Treasury

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

1.     Receiving and checking payment requests delivered from departments, budget holders, procurement and individual staffs and recording on the register book/ Payment Tracker.

2.     Ensuring that all payment documents are approved and completed as per SCI payment check list.

3.     Pass the payment documents as quickly as possible to the relevant and assigned Supplies Invoice Processing

4.      Support and assist FO’s in capturing transactions on to GLACOS on daily bases

5.     Preparing and updating the cash book manual (cheque payments) on daily bases and export it to SCI shared folder.

6.     Processing and preparing payment vouchers whenever there is a work load with in the treasury and disbursement unit

7.     Work as a backup team whenever staffs are on annual leave or medical leave

8.     Filing and labelling properly payment documents on sequential manner and handing over to archive, keep evidence for handing over payment documents to archive.

9.     Ensuring that all financial payment and supporting documents are processed and completed with “Paid stamp” before they are delivered to archive.

10.   Deliver bank letters to Commercial Bank, Awash and Oromia bank branches and collection of bank advices and bank statements as well

11.  Assist the Assistant Financial Accountant in capturing petty cash transactions on to GLACOS when needed

12.   Working on petty cash manual book on daily bases

13.   Facilitate and pull out finance documents from achieve for audit processing, and ensure that they are returned back to archive.

14.   Maintaining proper files in hard copy, contractual agreements, bank statement and others

15.   Making photo copy and scanning of financial documents any time when the need arises

16.   Request & make available stationary materials and payment vouchers from the store for the treasury unit as approved by relevant staffs.

17.   Facilitate and follow up that payment Cheques and local wire transfer letters are signed by bank signatories on time, ensure that close follow up of the safety of the cheques,

18.   Assist all Treasurer and disbursement unit staffs.

19.   Facilitate finance related training support at EtCO

Job Requirements

Experience and Skills:

  • Academic Qualification-College Diploma in accounting or related fields
  • Work Experience- 1 years
  • Special Training-Computer literate
  • Other Requirements
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written,
  • Commitment to Save the Children values
  • Teams, in the event of emergencies
