Job Description


JOB SUMMARY

The Junior Designer will contribute to and support architectural, interior design and furniture design projects. He/she will help prepare designs, complete construction documents, write up building plans and assist in the presentation of materials.

The Junior Designer will work under the direct supervision of Lead Designer and Design Manager with the goal of eventually moving up to that position with experience. The work is very collaborative in nature. He/she will occasionally visit construction sites as well.

Job Description  

  • The Junior Designer will help plan and design buildings along with a team of Designers. 
  • He/ brainstorm project ideas, complete design drawings in AutoCAD and assist in reviewing project proposals, remaining a part of the process from conception through development.
  • Complete and file much of the paperwork that is involved in the design process.
  • To create proposals and complete construction paperwork for buildings. In order to ensure that projects follow legal specifications and company procedures,
  • Ensure all required documents and paperwork are submitted before the construction process is started.
  • It is important that the Junior Designer maintains communication with all parties involved in the project.
  • They communicate with contractors to monitor the progress of a project, and they are sometimes responsible for communicating with clients as well, noting their requests, answering their questions and sending them project updates.
  • In order to assist the Designers, the Junior Designer will coordinate the details of an architectural project. This includes building specifications, dimensions, assisting with initial project research and outlining project schedules and tasks.

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Possessing a Bachelor’s degree in architecture GPA 3.25 and above
  • Demonstrating proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Showing internship experience with an architecture firm
  • Being able to use Microsoft Office
  • He/she must be a logical thinker with an eye for detail and design, and an ability to solve problems efficiently.
  • He/she must be highly organized multi-taskers who embrace flexibility and can prioritize many different duties and projects at once.
  • He/she must have no problem meeting deadlines and are capable of communicating effectively with their clients and working as part of a team.
