Job Description


Company Profile 

Abay Logistics PLC aspires to become Ethiopia’s preferred 3rd Party Logistics company by applying insights and delivering technologically innovative outcomes. We want to create sustainable growth for all businesses and society at large.

Currently the company has started operation in Customs Clearance and (Transit), Customs storge & Bonded ware house services. In the near future, we will engage in Freight forwarding, Shipping Agency, Digital Platforms, Consultancy and training after completion of all legal requirements which are under process now.

Our company currently wants to employ very competitive and energetic staffs on the Senior Assessment and Clearance officer positions;

Specific Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Check completeness and correctness of each document
  • Prepare customs declaration , assess customs duty  and  follow up the payment is effected as per the tariff of customs
  • Assess port handling charges as per the port Tariff
  • Conduct and follow up all clearance activities are made as per the standard and regulations
  • Submit O/B/L with freight payment and request for cargo release at Dry Port
  • Collect invoice of dry ports ,effect payment and obtain Delivery order for Multi modal cargo
  • Work closely with  Sea port counterparts both for import and export cargo
  • Follow up clearance, cargo arrival and stuffing of cargo at the port
  • Check export cargo loader vessel arrival with ship agent
  • Get confirmation of cargo loading from ship agent and advise to Exporter
  • Collect O/B/L from ship agents and hand over to customers
  • Raise Invoice and follow up until it is collected
  • Follow up all operation from generation until it is closed
  •  Work with transport companies who have an agreement with the company or hired to transport cargo for the company

Salary:   as per the Company’s Scale

Additional benefits: as per the company HR manual will be provided

Job Requirements

Education:  

  • Bachelor of Art Degree   in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Management or Related fields
  • Logistics, Shipping agency, Terminal Management training
  • Customs training and  competence certificate with proven experience is mandatory

Experience

  • Six years of total work Experience in Similar and related Business companies

Competence

  • Knowledge and proven experience in Logistics, freight forwarding, Customs procedure handling
