Job Description
ROLE PURPOSE:
Coordinate and discharge various program support functions of the Deputy Country Director (DCD) PDQI. As appropriate she/he will also support directors and heads of functions operating under DCD- PDQI.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: DCD PDQI
Dimensions: Save the Children works in all regions in Ethiopia with a current staff complement of approximately 1,700 staff and current expenditure of approximately $80+ million each year.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage, track and update the DCD PDQI on plans and progresses of the department by applying systematic and automatized tools
- Manage calendars of the department in general and DCD PDQI in particular including tracking of actions and deliverables
- Serve as secretariat for Senior PDQI leadership team which involves management of meeting calendars, documentation and sharing high quality minutes, tracking, updating and reporting of measures taken
- Upon the direction of the DCD PDQI organise demand driven meetings with internal and external teams/stakeholders, document, share, track and update major actions
- Support the DCD PDQI and directors of the department as appropriate in initiating, processing and tracking various, HR, operations and administrative matters and issues
- Support in compilation/production of high quality program and related reports/documents through provision of quality writing and editorial assistance – using smart visual tools
Undertake other activities as assigned by her line manager

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum BA Degree in international development, international relations, social science, business, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years related experience in proposal / new business development in an NGO or similar environment, preferably including experience-developing programs for children.
- Demonstrated experience working across the full project management cycle.
- Practical proposal writing management experience for donors such ECHO, BHA, UNOCHA, UNHCR, BPRM, GAC, GFFO etc. Experience working on large proposals in a consortium is a plus.
- Excellent writing skills
- Proven ability to track, manage and represent large and diverse funding portfolios
- Excellent analytical, organization, communication and management skills. Must have attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Experience in Save the Children’s priority sectors: Heath, Nutrition, Education, WASH, FS/L, Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Migration in development and/or emergencies
- Highly self-motivated and energetic, with a go getter attitude and the resourcefulness to solve problems effectively
- Ability to provide support and training to staff and partners on donor requirements
- Knowledge on project design methods and tools (including assessments, logical frameworks, and work planning) and strong appreciation for innovation and partnership as part of project development
- Good analytical skills with ability to positively influence cross departmental and cross sector working, and ability to work both independently and as well as a team player
- Strong results orientation, with ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality products
